Why I need a dedicated newborn baby photographer?

Newborn photography and professional photography will give not only give you a memorable experience but also astounding photographs that you will cherish for your lifetime. With our experienced photographer you will have absolutely dreamy pictures that your child would incredibly love and will give you timeless memories.

This is a common question often put forth by parents. The perfect age for newborn baby photography is till 20 days after the birth of a baby. This is essentially because the baby is mostly sleepy, less fussy, can be easily have curled up poses as babies don’t move their arms and legs a lot. Babies begin to stretch and extend their arms and legs after two weeks, making it harder for them to naturally curl up during photos.

When you book your session in advance, I take note of your due date and guarantee availability for your newborn session in that timeframe. So whether your newborn arrives before, on, or after your estimated due date, we will make room for you and your newborn in our studio schedule. 

However, It is always best to book for a newborn session while you are still pregnant so that we may plan accordingly for your session to be within the recommended first 5-10 days after birth. Once baby arrives, you contact me and we schedule your portrait session. Last-minute bookings are accepted only if slots are available. It is highly encouraged to book early to ensure we save a spot for you.

Your session will take between 3-4 hours, depending on the type of session you book.  The shoot also goes according to the pace of your baby as we are relaxed about pausing to feed and change. The atmosphere will be very relaxed and comfortable and we will take care of every little thing to make you comfortable.

I offer both studio newborn photography with props and in-home lifestyle photography.  My studio sessions include a wide array of props for clients to use, including a multitude of newborn wraps, blankets, headbands, backdrops and unique props.  I will take individual photographs of the baby and capture some great detail shots of his/her tiny toes, fingers, and those kissable pouty lips. I'm happy to incorporate any creative ideas you might have!

After your session, we’ll discuss about when can expect your photographs to be available for viewing in your online gallery. We will be sending you a few sample edited pictures along with the entire shoot in softcopy. You’d then decide the professionally edited pictures you wish to have delivered at your residence in our customized box in accordance to your package limit.

Of course! We offer natural in-home lifestyle Sessions, which are more casual and relaxed while featuring your baby at their home. Lifestyle sessions held in your home are in the mornings and feature soft, natural light.  We love to capture the relationship between the new baby and his/her family, including parents, siblings, and pets are encouraged to join too! This is essentially to the comfort the baby with their known surroundings. Ideally a newborn shoot should be done within the first 20 days of birth.

Not really. We can create almost all the set ups as we do in our studio. The lighting conditions, props and environment is similar and the picture quality is not any different.

Our studio has a vast array of wraps, outfits and props which help create our style of imagery, which is presumably why you are thinking of booking me, so we will predominantly use these to create images you will love. If you have a sentimental teddy or a favourite outfit/blanket, please bring these with you as we may be able to incorporate these into the shoot to create unique imagery that is special to your family.

Yes you can choose the setups of your choices. 

This is only natural and doesn't tend to last the entire session. If baby cries and no amount of soothing, changing, feeding and winding changes this we can simply reschedule your session as it may be that they are coming down with something. We tend to have a homely atmosphere which makes you and your tiny one comfortable. More often, with some time, patience and perseverance all babies will settle and we will be able to create beautiful images - awake or asleep.

Absolutely! I love to capture the lovely bond between the parents and their newborn baby, and there is the option to include parents and/or siblings for each of the standard sessions (maternity, newborn, baby) at no additional cost. There are also petite sessions available that are shorter and for baby-only, so this is something we discuss during the initial consultation and confirm specifics in the session planning. Parent and sibling images are typically done near the end of the session. As we know, technically newborns run the show so we play it according to them.
